CULLMAN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Cullman Police say a man and a woman from Georgia have been arrested in an iPhone scheme that targeted elderly victims.
Tiffany Carter and Kevonta Doneterrece Price of Covington, Georgia were arrested Nov. 15 at the Walmart on Olive Street SW. They are charged with second-degree financial exploitation of the elderly and third-degree attempted theft of property.
Police say the suspects have been coming up to elderly victims, convincing them to get into a vehicle and taking them to different Walmart locations. Once there, the suspects used the victims’ personal information to fraudulently open AT&T accounts and get new iPhones, leaving the victims responsible for substantial bills that later arrive by mail. Police say in many cases, the suspects left the victims
