In a thrilling Patriot League championship match, the No. 6 seeded Lafayette College men’s soccer team defeated archrival Lehigh 4-1 on penalty kicks after the game ended in a 1-1 draw through regulation and overtime.
Senior captain Eric Axtman made two saves in the penalty shootout to help the Leopards to their eighth Patriot League title and earn Tournament MVP honors in front of a record-setting crowd of 2,075 fans at Lehigh’s Ulrich Sports Complex.
