WASHINGTON — O.J. Simpson's estate will officially pay nearly $58 million to the Goldman family decades after the late NFL player was acquitted in the killing of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson.
Malcolm LaVergne, Simpson's estate executor, agreed to pay Fred Goldman's creditor claim of $57,997,858 plus interest over the last three decades, according to court documents filed Friday in the Clark County District Court. LaVergne said the original amount, which was $117 million , did "not appear to be as accurate as possible based on simple judgment interest calculations," NBC News reported.
“It won’t be $58 million plus interest, but it will be a voluntary payment. That's the point,” Malcolm LaVergne said Monday.
