WINNIPEG, Man. — For the first time in Bemidji State football history, a former Beaver has won the Grey Cup.
Wide receiver Dhel Duncan-Busby won the Canadian Football League's Grey Cup with Saskatchewan on Sunday in Winnipeg. The Roughriders beat the Montreal Alouettes 25-17 to win their fifth Grey Cup in franchise history.
Duncan-Busby played for Bemidji State from 2019 to 2023. He picked up 2,839 yards and 27 touchdowns in four seasons with the Beavers.
Born in Vancouver and raised near Toronto, Duncan-Busby became the first Beaver picked in the CFL draft in 2024, taken 23rd overall by Saskatchewan. American players can only sign as free agents and aren't eligible to be drafted into the CFL.
