Four people wearing balaclavas in a stolen luxury SUV was enough to spark a police chase, that ended in a crash and discovery of a shotgun and jerrycans of petrol in the latest interception of an alleged Sydney underworld “kill car”.

Three men are due to face court on Tuesday, with a fourth on the run after a pursuit through western Sydney on Monday afternoon.

The black Mercedes-Benz sped away from police as they approached it on Regina Street, Greystanes, allegedly reaching speeds up to 80km/h on suburban streets before colliding with a parked car on Paton Street, Merrylands West.

The men ran from the scene, two of them chased down by officers while a third was arrested after being tracked by police dogs and a helicopter.
