LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – A victim has been identified in the early-morning fatal fire on the 1700 block of Taylor Street in La Crosse Thursday.

One found deceased in early-morning residential fire in La Crosse

As reported, authorities responded to the fire around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 13. A victim was located after the fire was addressed.

27-year-old Alexis Pickett has been identified as the victim in the incident.

Fire Chief Jeff Schott offered condolences, saying any loss of life in any fire deeply affects everyone.

"Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time," he said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
