WEST FARGO — When the puck drops at West Fargo Sports Arena on Saturday, Nov. 22, it will be about much more than who scores the first goal.

Off and on the ice, it will be all about a place where disabled veterans can find camaraderie, understanding and possibly a new pastime.

The North Dakota Warriors will take on the St. Cloud (Minn.) Warriors in the first Warrior Hockey Fall Classic. The game will begin at 3 p.m. at the West Fargo Sports Arena.

Scott Berge, a growth facilitator for USA Hockey, said the organization has six veteran hockey disciplines — for deaf, blind, amputee, special, sled and warrior athletes.

Warrior hockey teams are a group of teams composed of disabled veterans, facilitated by the Warrior Teams. Members are veterans or members of the U.S. armed forces. Members
