Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase looks on after the game against the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High.

The NFL suspended Cincinnati Bengals superstar wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase on Monday for a game after he spit in the face of Pittsburgh Steelers superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Ramsey got ejected from Sunday's home Steelers game against the Bengals after he got into an altercation with Chase.

"Early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 11 game, Chase and Ramsey got into a scuffle between plays," our Andrew Joseph wrote of the brouhaha. "Chase was seen grabbing Ramsey's facemask and exchanging words. When the Bengals faced a fourth down play, Chase and Ramsey again converged. This time, it was Ramsey who grabbed Chase's facemask and appeared to attempt a jab punch with his right hand."

Video later showed that Chase spit on Ramsey to spark the altercation in question, which begged the question if Chase would get suspended for a game over his actions. Chase will have the chance to appeal and denied spitting after the fact.

As of now, Chase will miss Sunday's Bengals home game against the New England Patriots with the suspension.

Chase's suspension follows Philadelphia Eagles superstar defensive tackle Jalen Carter's Week 1 ejection for spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

When will Chase be eligible to return?

If the suspension stands, Chase can return for the team's Nov. 27 road game against the Baltimore Ravens.
