Buck fever should only be acted upon in designated areas, a hunter in Brownstown Township was reminded the hard way over the weekend.
Brownstown Township police reported that an officer responded to reports of possible gunshots near Telegraph and West roads. The responding officer then found a vehicle believed to be connected with illegal gun hunting. Coordinating with a Michigan Department of Natural Resources officer, the pair searched the area and found a hunting site, spent shell casing, a deer, a suspect, and a .270 rifle hidden in the woods. The DNR is now handling the case.
