The UConn men’s soccer team has made its way back into the national picture, securing its first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2018 — with a first-round bye and second-round home game.

The Huskies benefitted from playing in a strong soccer conference; the Big East has five teams in the field of 48. UConn’s 11-4-4 overall record, and 5-2-1 mark in the league and semifinal victory over Akron in the conference semifinal lifted the team into a strong position, 15th in the NCAA’s ratings-percentage index (RPI). As a result, UConn is seeded 13th, one of the 16 to get byes in the first round.
