ASHEVILLE - Buncombe County charged a man with first-degree murder and another man with accessory in the death of a 44-year-old man Nov. 14, the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office announced Nov. 17.
Just before 1 p.m. on Nov. 14, Buncombe County deputies responded to 223 Oak Terrace Road where Hendersonville resident Jonathan Torres was found dead from a gunshot wound. After the investigation, the sheriff's office charged Asheville residents Izaiah Quinn Smith-Sheridan, 18, with first-degree murder and Cory Robert Mitchell Garrison, 37, with possession of a firearm by a felon and accessory after the fact. Both men were arrested that afternoon.
