Vince Sortino doesn’t usually sit in on WPIAL Board of Directors meetings, but he made an exception on Monday.
After all, he was on the agenda.
Sortino was unanimously approved as the new executive director of the WPIAL and will take over the position officially on Dec. 21. He replaces Scott Seltzer, who announced at the last board meeting on Oct. 21 that he had planned to retire on Dec. 20 and asked the members to accept his resignation.
“I’m appreciative of the opportunity. It’s always a challenge to work with as many schools and kids as we have in the district and try to continue to make this, what I believe, is the best district in the state,” Sortino said. “That will always be a challenge and, hopefully, I’ll get a lot of input from people around the district in different sport in
