The BBC has apologised to Princess Catherine after receiving national backlash for using her incorrect title during Remembrance Day coverage.
The British public broadcaster referred to the Princess of Wales, 43, by her maiden name, Middleton, which she has not used since she married Prince William in 2011, last Tuesday, sparking claims of "disrespect".
MP for the Northern Ireland village of Strangford Jim Shannon slammed the reference on X, writing: “A reminder to @BBCNews to educate its broadcasters that the Princess of Wales has not been ‘Kate Middleton’ since 2011. Her correct title is Catherine, Princess of Wales. Get it right.”
