Trent Morgan, co-principal and head boys basketball coach for England High School, was arrested Monday on charges of rape and sexual assault.
Morgan's arrest was confirmed by district superintendent Judy Hubbell and announced by the Lonoke County sheriff's office.
"I am working with our school district's lawyer to prepare the appropriate documents to place him on administrative leave until the matter is resolved," Hubbell said in an email. "We will be appointing interim staff to (c)over his positions in the district."
Morgan was arrested after an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving a juvenile student.
Morgan has been charged with rape, second degree sexual assault and sexual grooming of a child, according to a post on the sheriff office's Facebook page.
