COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — College Park officials opened the doors on Monday to the brand-new Ivy at College Park Apartments, a newly redeveloped 440-unit residential community designed to address Atlanta's need for more modern, affordable housing.

Formerly known as Chelsea Gardens under its previous management, The Ivy at College Park has undergone an extensive transformation and a change in management.

Back in April, the city condemned much of the former complex after inspectors identified long-standing, unresolved code violations. At the time, some residents were living without running water or electricity, and conditions had deteriorated to the point that the city ordered tenants to evacuate.
