FINDLAY, Ohio — After nearly 10 years in the making, a major interchange in Findlay has reopened with a new look.

The Ohio Department of Transportation held a ribbon‑cutting Monday afternoon at the I‑75 and County Road 99 interchange, unveiling a redesigned diverging diamond configuration.

ODOT officials said the design eliminates left turns against oncoming traffic, reducing crashes by an estimated 54%.

“Traffic is going to experience much less delay,” said Chris Hughes, an ODOT engineer. “Whether it’s cars or trucks driving through this interchange, they’re going to spend a lot less time at a red light than they would have under a traditional diamond configuration.”
