WASHINGTON, D.C. ( WBRC ) - Parts of west Alabama will be seeing the start of new projects soon.

According to representatives with U.S. Congresswoman Terri Sewell’s office, she announced on Monday, Nov. 17 that she secured $3,265,000 in funding for four local projects in Alabama’s Black Belt.

Sewell’s office says that funding includes half-a-million dollars to renovate the Marion National Guard Armory into a community center, over 1 million dollars to renovate the Uniontown Health Center, 1 million dollars to construct a new joint police and volunteer fire station in Aliceville and 750,000 to build a new community center in Sumter County.
