The West Wing showrunner, John Wells, has set a new political drama series on Netflix, The Aisle . Wells executive-produced and eventually assumed the role of showrunner and head writer of NBC's Emmy-winning series, which aired for seven seasons from 1999 to 2006 and followed the staffers in the West Wing of the White House.
Now, according to Deadline , John Wells is returning to Washington, D.C. for Netflix's new political drama, The Aisle . Wells will executive-produce with Phoebe Fisher, co-creator and showrunner of Amazon's Cruel Intentions series, handing the script-writing duties.
