Debate and public opinion on Strathcona County’s 2026 budget is starting on November 24th.
Like many households and businesses, the County is experiencing financial pressures, with rising costs and limited revenue streams. Building on the past and planning for the future is essential with this budget.
“Our focus this year is on the capital plan, with an emphasis on maintaining and preserving our existing infrastructure and facilities,” says Jennifer Cannon, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, Corporate Services and CFO. “Escalating capital costs have changed the financial landscape, so it is essential that we make purposeful and necessary adjustments to ensure sustainability for the future.”
County Council will be meeting in on November 24, 26 and 27, as well as December 1 and 3. Decem
