The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a fatal collision that took place on Saturday in northeast Edmonton.
On Saturday, November 15 shortly before 9 a.m., a 2024 Nissan Rouge was travelling southbound on 82 Street and making a left-hand turn onto 153 Avenue when it struck a 58-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing 153 Avenue in a marked crosswalk while walking her dog.
EMS responded and transported the woman to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, she passed away in hospital in the late evening of November 15.
The pedestrian’s dog ran away following the collision but was found and returned home unharmed by the City of Edmonton’s Animal Control. The 36-year-old female driver of the Nissan Rouge remained on scene and was not injured.
