Riley Anderson , a senior with the Manchester co-op swim team from Colchester, set a State Open record in the 50-yard freestyle and won the 100 butterfly Sunday at the State Open swim championships at Yale.
Anderson won the State Open title in the 50 free all four years of her high school career. The last two years, she won the 100 free title as well.
Anderson finished the 50 free in 22.39 seconds, breaking Annam Olasewere of Staples’ record (22.58) from 2021. Anderson also holds the state record in the event, after swimming 22.20 to win the Class LL title. Anderson won the 100 fly in 54.45; she also holds the state record in that event after winning the Class LL title in 53.30.
