Long-serving Shoalhaven Council staff member Kevin Norwood has been appointed council's director of city services following a competitive recruitment process.
Mr Norwood started with council in 1988 and has spent 37 years rising through the ranks to become a well respected member of the executive leadership team, including the past eight months as acting director.
CEO Andrew Constance said Mr Norwood was one of several skilled people who applied for the job, and his comprehensive management experience and commitment to the local community made him the right candidate.
"Kevin has forged an incredibly successful career in local government and it's fantastic to see him appointed to this coveted leadership position," Mr Constance said.
