(Gray News) – Acting FEMA Administrator David Richardson will step down from his position, according to several media reports .
According to CNN , Richardson submitted a resignation letter Monday to the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees FEMA.
In the letter, CNN reports that Richardson gave his two weeks’ notice, which aligns with the end of hurricane season.

His departure comes after months of public controversy and internal frustration at FEMA.
Sources told CNN that plans were already in the works to remove him from the role.
Richardson was chosen to lead FEMA earlier this year, even though he lacked experience in disaster management.
