PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Hispanic business owner in Eastern Carolina said she and others in the community are living in fear following immigration arrests that have expanded to North Carolina.

Olga Romero, who owns a tax solutions business and came to the United States legally from Mexico, said the Hispanic community in Pitt County is worried about ongoing immigration enforcement operations.

“We live in fear. What I do is... I just keep praying,” Romero said.

Despite her legal status, Romero said she remains scared about what could happen to her and others in the community. She said children are her primary concern.

“It’s hard for everyone, but the most vulnerable people are the children,” Romero said.

She worries for herself and her family as well.
