FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The victim in the shooting in West Central Fresno near McKinley and Marks avenues has been identified as 18-year-old Karim Williams.

On Saturday, Fresno Police responded to a call about a possible hit-and-run and a person lying in a parking lot of an apartment complex off West McKinley Ave.

When officers arrived, they found Williams on the ground with a gunshot wound.

They gave medical aid to Williams but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe Williams was in a fight with several other men in the parking lot. At some point, the men left and left him on the ground, wounded.

The motive is currently unknown.
