MINNESOTA (KTTC) – UCare is planning to shut down in 2026, with Medica taking control of its health plans, according to a joint-release from the two providers.
UCare is a non-profit health plan provider available to Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin. According to Fox 9 , UCare reported a loss of nearly $500 million in 2024.
On Monday, Medica announced it will be acquiring UCare’s Medicaid and Individual and Family Plans, saying that customers will continue to receive services without interruptions.
