SRINAGAR, Nov 17: Bharti Airtel today announced that it has expanded its mobile network to the remote villages of Man and Merak on the eastern border of Ladakh, becoming the only telecom operator to offer reliable connectivity in the area near Pangong Lake.

A statement said the region, spread over nearly 50 km between the two villages, had no telecom coverage until now, posing challenges for local residents, security forces, and tourists travelling along the Chushul–Pangong Tso route.

With the new high-speed network sites, the entire stretch is now connected, marking a major boost for communication and tourism, it said.
