HANNIBAL (WGEM) - The Hannibal Nutrition Center (HNC) announced Monday it is suspending in-house meals and are reducing home-delivered meals.
HNC officials stated this is due to the funding crisis caused by the government shutdown, compounded by a regional policy dispute.
According to officials, funding comes in part through the Older Americans Act (OAA) and is distributed regionally by the Area Agency on Aging, according to HNC officials. HNC is involved in a dispute over policies and procedures. The funds are being withheld until the issue is resolved.
