COLUMBIA — The sound of a gunshot explodes as a man in a black shirt punches the head of a man in a lime-green vest. That’s how video shows a Nov. 14 altercation ending just hundreds of feet away from the Planned Parenthood office.

The man in black then falls to the ground, landing on his right elbow.

Columbia police said a man injured in the shooting was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition by that afternoon. Another man was detained. Neither has been identified by the authorities.

Less than 30 seconds before the shooting, the man in the black shirt and the guy in the vest can be see in the video standing toe-to-toe along Middleburg Drive, seemingly engaged in a confrontation. The man in the vest then pulls a can from his side and sprays the contents into the other
