CHESNEE — A new 2.1-mile trail in Spartanburg County is the latest option for hikers to enjoy Lake Blalock’s surrounding natural habitat.
The path winds through the park, offering panoramic views of the 1,100-acre lake that anchors Lake Blalock Park . Located on Sandy Ford Road, the park includes a boat ramp, picnic shelter, picnic tables and additional fishing piers.
The park has long been a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Spartanburg Water dedicated the new trail Nov. 14.
Mike Moore, who lives just 2 miles from the park, hiked the new trail soon after it opened. He expects walking the trail will become part of his weekly routine.
“I walked the whole trail with my dog," Moor told The Post and Courier. “I plan to come out twice a week and hike it. I had heart surgery eig
