LINCOLN, Neb. —
The UNL Faculty Senate will take up a no-confidence vote against a chancellor for the first time in decades.
That vote is set for Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., a clear sign of discontent over Chancellor Rodney Bennett's administration.
"The chancellor hasn't been visible on campus," Dr. Susan Vanderplas, an associate professor of statistics, said. "He hasn't been trying to connect with people."
Vanderplas is one of many raising her voice in rebellion after Bennett's proposal to axe $27.5 million from the budget would force her job, the jobs of dozens of others and whole academic departments onto the cutting room floor.
