RALSTON, Neb. —
The Omaha Lancers partnered with a nonprofit for a third year to offer people who are blind or visually impaired a day on the ice rink.
The team worked with Outlook Enrichment for a "Family Skate" event Sunday. Kids and adults of all ability levels were welcomed to Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston.
Participants had the chance to skate one-on-one with Lancers players. Some even got the chance to take a penalty shot.
"I think the biggest thing is having them kind of enjoy, like, try to make the best day of their lives," said Cam Caron of the Omaha Lancers. "Make this memorable for them."
Outlook Enrichment is an Omaha-based organization that helps and empowers people with vision loss.
