LINCOLN, Neb. —

From KETV Investigates, a teenager from the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Kearney is discharged and now staying with his mom.

The young person is on Intensive Supervision Probation.

Judge Shellie Sabata officially discharged the teen and even apologized for what he endured at the center. Now he's under ISP until he turns 19.

The teen’s mom, Jennifer, said at his last court hearing, the judge was “appalled” by sex abuse allegations made against two former YRTC staffers outlined in Department of Health and Human Services letters to the court, but also saw the benefits of a program like YRTC.

“She thought he had done his programming to the best of his ability,” Jennifer said.
