An Angola High School teacher was formally charged Monday with felonies after students in search of candy allegedly ate THC-infused gummies they found on a counter in her classroom.
Debra Lee McGillem of Reading, Michigan, later told police she must have forgotten to put the edibles away after her lunch break, according to court records.
McGillem has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on school property and neglect of a dependent. She was also charged two misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with one specifying she had a Schedule 1 or Schedule 2 drug in her system.
