The body of a man who fled from Spokane Tribal Police in a foot chase on Sunday was found in the Spokane River.
"With the assistance of the Spokane County Dive Team, the 42-year-old male has been located and recovered," tribal police said in a social media post.
The man was presumed dead by drowning after he jumped into the river while evading tribal police and did not resurface.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time," tribal police said.
