PASQUOTANK COUNTY, N.C. — A 19-year-old from Pasquotank County is in custody after the sheriff says he assaulted two deputies when they responded to a 911 call.
The initial call to a home on Okisko Road happened about 11 a.m., said Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten II. A mother said her son was damaging items in the house and called for help, Wooten said.
Ziyon Turner, 19, then went outside with a gun in his hand, Wooten stated Monday afternoon in a phone call with 13News Now. He went to a nearby church, which also houses Victory Christian School.
Turner also allegedly said he was going to shoot deputies when they arrived.
Deputies arrived and he assaulted two of them, but they were uninjured, Wooten said. Turner was booked into Albemarle District Jail on a $14,000 bond.
