LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A long-vacant warehouse at Lytle and 15th streets in Louisville’s East Portland district is set for new life as “Liminal Louisville.”

The $35.7 million mixed-use redevelopment is bringing more than 100 new apartments and 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and commercial space to the edge of downtown.

“Our goal for the foreseeable future is how we make residential development in and around downtown easier,” said Louisville Downtown Partnership’s Rebecca Fleischaker.

City leaders and developers broke ground Monday, celebrating a project they say will help grow the urban core and expand housing options near jobs and amenities.

“We’re helping to address one of Louisville’s critical issues, the lack of affordable housing in this city,” said developer Kappie Farring
