CAIRO – Two state troopers sustained non-life-threatening injuries late Monday afternoon when they were struck by a passing vehicle while conducting a traffic stop on Route 23 in the Town of Cairo.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:25 p.m. incident, although police provided no details about the circumstances.
The troopers were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
The incident remains under investigation.
