LAWRENCE COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Lawrence County man walked away unharmed after a tree crashed through his skid steer windshield and pinned him inside the machine during a land clearing job over the weekend.
Josh Kress was taking down a tree when his skid steer started to fall forward, and he saw the tree coming straight toward him.
“There was nothing I could do to stop it, and that’s why I just twisted myself inside the cab and hoped and prayed that I would miss it, and it wouldn’t get me right in the chest,” Kress said.
The tree went through the windshield and narrowly missed Kress, scraping only his left shoulder. The impact left Kress trapped between the cab and the fallen tree.
