ATLANTA — A former Douglas County judge is no longer facing a felony charge over an arrest at a Buckhead nightclub last year, records show.
Fulton County case records for the ex-judge, Christina Peterson, show a misdemeanor simple battery charge and felony willful obstruction charge were both dismissed "for want of prosecution."
An accusation document signed by Fulton County DA Fani Willis and filed last week charges Peterson with one misdemeanor account of willful obstruction for allegedly interfering with an officer "while he was restraining an individual who was involved in physical altercation" in June 2024 outside Red Martini Restaurant & Lounge.
Attorneys for Peterson had argued at the time of her arrest the charges weren't justified because, they said, she was trying to help a
