PAINSEDALE/NEGAUNEE — The Cheboygan hockey team suffered a pair of defeats in their opening games of the season last weekend.
On Friday, Nov. 14, the Chiefs fell short in a 9-1 loss at Painsedale-Jeffers.
“We still have some habits that we need to break ourselves,” Cheboygan coach Seth Duncan said. “We actually played two solid periods on Friday; the second period sunk us when we got trapped on extended shifts with the long change. Even though we didn’t come out with wins, there were still positives we can use going forward going into next week.”
Senior defenseman Carter Kovacs scored the lone goal for the Chiefs, who dropped a 3-0 contest at Negaunee on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Cheboygan (0-2-0) opens its home slate with a 7 p.m. clash with Dexter on Friday, Nov. 21.
