A 57-year-old Eastpointe male was arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a man who lived with him, police said late Monday.

Officers responded to a home on the 21000 block of Tuscany Avenue, in the area of Toepfer Drive and Kelly Road, about 7:10 p.m. to investigate an assault complaint.

According to a news release, when the officers arrived at the home, they discovered a 32-year-old man sustained several stab wounds to his torso.

“The victim was transported to an area hospital by an ambulance, where he

was pronounced dead,” Detective Lt. Alexander Holish said in the release.

The suspect had remained at the house and was taken into custody without further incident, Holish said.

A preliminary investigation by police showed both the victim and the suspect lived at the house
