CLEVELAND, Ohio - Police are investigating the suspected homicide of a 61-year-old woman whose body was discovered in an alleyway Friday in the city’s Forest Hills neighborhood.

Latanya Delaney was found dead in the 900 block of East 123rd Street, near Fairport Avenue, according to a report from the office of the Cuyahoga County medical examiner.

Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer reached out to police and safety officials for details surrounding Delaney’s death.

The medical examiner reported the death as a suspected homicide. Police did not respond to requests for information about Delaney’s death.

Police have reported 92 homicides so far this year. At the same time last year, 97 slayings were recorded, according to data from the police department.
