NSW Premier Chris Minns has revealed the state's $60-a-week toll cap will continue beyond January 1 to help motorists with the cost-of-living, but has warned there could be a major change to how the Sydney Harbour Bridge is tolled to pay for the relief.
The rebate allows motorists to claim up to $340 back a week after spending $60 per vehicle.
Minns said the toll cap helped hundreds of thousands of western Sydney and Central Coast drivers.
"Without a $60 a week toll cap, they'll be paying full market rates to use toll roads in Sydney," Minns told Sydney radio station 2GB.
"It's hugely onerous for them and we couldn't live with ourselves if we were to effectively put a massive tax increase on their shoulders."
However, Minns said the permanent change would require significant funding
