Two people allegedly carved into a 72-year-old man's body with a box cutter and gouged his eyes out before covering his remains with a curtain, a jury has been told.

After her arrest, Jodie Hill has been accused of boasting to an undercover police officer inside her holding cell that the experience was "the biggest rush ever".

"This fulfilled one of my fantasies and only the start of my fantasies," she allegedly said.

Hill faced the first day on trial at Melbourne's Supreme Court over the death of John Hunter, whose body was found in January 2023 inside a bedroom of his Dimboola home in western Victoria.

The 45-year-old woman has pleaded not guilty to murder and a jury of 14 was empanelled on Tuesday.
