Woman climbs over apartment balcony and enters neighbor’s unit to avoid arrest: Mayfield Heights blotter

A woman reported Nov. 5 that a delivered package, containing a dining table and chairs, was stolen from a lobby at the Drake apartments.

Surveillance video showed two women examining the package and one of them taking it onto an elevator.

An employee identified the woman as a sixth-floor tenant.

Officers later went to her apartment, where another woman answered the door. She claimed that the suspect was not there.

But almost immediately, a neighbor opened her door and yelled that the suspect was inside her apartment.

Officers immediately took the suspect into custody and learned that she had climbed from her balcony to her neighbor’s balcony and entered her apartment.
