Two presentations have been made in the last two months to the Town of Petawawa regarding the spraying of glyphosate in the forests of Renfrew County.
The first presentation came from two concerned environmentalists and nutritionists who gave compelling evidence of the harmful effects of this herbicide on environmental and human health.
The second presentation came from the general manager of Ottawa Valley Forestry Inc., who explained the reasons for using glyphosate and offered arguments in favour of its continued use.
On Monday, Nov. 3, 2025 Councillor Lisa Coutu brought a motion forward to council to resolve that the town of Petawawa take action to reduce the harm caused by the aerial spraying of glyphosate in Renfrew County.
