Bhubaneswar: After a brief spell of cold wave, the night temperature in Odisha is likely to rise by 2-3°C during the next 3 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Tuesday.

In the last 24 hours, G Udayagiri, a hill station in Kandhamal district, remained the coldest place in the state at 5.6°C, followed by Semiliguda in Koraput at 7.7°C and Daringbadi and Phulbani, also in Kandhamal, at 8°C each. ADVERTISEMENT

Severe cold wave prevailed only in Angul, where the night temperature dropped to 9.8°C, 7.7°C below normal, due to northerly winds, according to the weather agency.

The other places where the mercury plummeted below 14°C include Chipilima in Bargarh (9.7°C), Jharsuguda (10.1°C), Bhawanipatna (10.4°C), Nabarangpur (11°C), Koraput and Rourkela and Kirei in Sunda
