L’ANSE — Forest Park made quite a statement in its Division 4 volleyball regional final.
The 3-0 victory over Ishpeming by scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-14 sent the Trojans (41-1) to Manistique where they’ll face Atlanta (36-1-2) in a state quarterfinal match at 6 p.m. Eastern time today.
The Hematites finished 23-6-2.
“I didn’t imagine we would win 41 matches this season.” Forest Park coach Bobbie Jo Anderson said after Thursday night’s victory. “That’s beyond our expectations, although the girls worked hard. The first set definitely set the tone. They were able to relax a little more after winning the first set.”
It was junior Tessa Bartoszek who came up with a key defensive play in the second set.
