A man has been charged with two counts of murder more than 10 months after a father and son were killed at a one-year-old’s birthday party in Melbourne’s south-east.
Wurundjeri and Bidwell man Karl Gruber-Terrick, 23, and his father, Karl Dieter Gruber, 54, were fatally stabbed in a brawl at a home in Clyde North about 9.30pm on January 16 .
On Tuesday, police said a 30-year-old man had been taken into custody in Doveton over the incident.
“He was interviewed by detectives and has been charged with two counts of murder,” police said in a statement.
“The man has been remanded overnight to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.”
